We were honoured to receive the best oral abstract award at this years HCC-UK conference for SHiNE-UK - a national evaluation of HCC surveillance, routes to diagnosis and treatment utilisation. To our knowledge this is the first national study of surveillance adherence and treatment utilisation, with granularity provided by local collaborators that will complement comparable studies based on population level data. Preliminary data was also presented as a poster at EASL Congress and Liver Cancer Summit in 2025.
We will be sharing reports with participating hospital sites comparing key performance metrics across site -> ICB -> region -> nation -> UK. Hopefully this will provide leverage for driving local service improvement efforts. We intend to share the final outputs including a sensitivity analysis of adherence (using PTC method) and regional variation at the BSG and BASL meetings in 2026.
